Our Safeguarding Commitment

At Stanway Pre-school, keeping children safe is at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to making sure every child in our care feels safe, valued, and listened to, and we take this responsibility extremely seriously.

What this means in practice:

We have a designated Safeguarding Lead and a deputy, who are responsible for overseeing all matters relating to child protection. Both receive regular training, so they are always up to date with the latest guidance and best practice.

Every member of our staff receives safeguarding training as part of their induction, with refresher training every year. This means our whole team knows how to recognise the signs that a child may need extra support or protection, and exactly what to do if they have any concerns.

We work closely with other local agencies and follow national safeguarding guidance, including Keeping Children Safe in Education and the Early Years Foundation Stage framework, to make sure our procedures are always in line with best practice.

We have clear, confidential procedures in place for reporting any concerns, whether that relates to a child in our care or a member of staff. Any concern is taken seriously, recorded properly, and handled in line with the correct legal and safety procedures.

We also make sure our approach is inclusive and considers every child’s individual circumstances, background and needs, so that safeguarding support is right for every family we work with.
